Whatever you believe in, you can’t deny there’s a certain magic to December.
Celebrating the winter solstice and the return of the sun feels fundamental, almost instinctive. We gather, look toward the light, and remind ourselves that warmth and renewal will come again. It’s hope in its oldest form.
Age-old traditions passed down through generations mean we still decorate trees with baubles and bows, deck our halls with holly and mistletoe, exchange gifts and sing carols. There’s something deeply special about continuing traditions we’ve carried with us through centuries of changing beliefs and shifting worlds.
December feels primal.
It’s breath and bone.
It’s good cheer mixed with reverence for everything and everyone that came before us.
So let’s raise a toast to our ancestors and the old ways, and the stories that keep us warm.
Yuletide cheers!
