Wow, it’s been a long while since I last wrote here. Life, work and family have a way of sweeping us along, don’t they? But the stories never go quiet, not really. Even when I’m away from my writing desk, the voices of my characters (and the echoes of all those haunted places, imagined and real) keep whispering in my mind.
Now that autumn has returned with its cold, dark evenings, I’m easing back into my writing routine. It feels therapeutic to be tapping away at the keys of my trusty laptop again, shaking thoughts loose through my fingertips while exploring what’s kept deep within.
What new horrors do I want to unearth?
Harrow House.
Think an isolated manor on the North Yorkshire Moors, ghosts in every room and depraved family secrets that refuse to stay buried.
From a distance, Harrow House is magnificent, but up close, the cracks begin to show – in the walls, in the people who live there, and in the memories that refuse to fade.
It’s a story of women bound by the horror of loss, love and the choices they must make.
At Harrow House someone must die.
I’ll be sharing more in the coming weeks and months as the house unfurls more of its secrets.
In the meantime, if you’d like to step into another shadowy corner of my imagination, The Cabin in Whispering Woods (previously A Storytelling of Ravens) is currently on offer for just 99p (or cents, depending where you are in the world) – and free to read on Kindle Unlimited.
