Today I’m choosing Jennifer Kent, the Australian actress, writer and director, whose first directorial offering was The Babadook.
I was hugely impressed with The Babadook and it remains one of my favourite horror films of recent years. The way it was shot and the issues it raised, what can I say? It hit my sweet spot with the sort of subjective, psychological creeping dread that I love best.
